The Glyndebourne Festival

To celebrate the anniversaries of both Handel and Purcell in 2009, this year's Glyndebourne Festival is presenting David McVicar's highly acclaimed production of Giulio Cesare and Purcell's The Fairy Queen. Also in the line-up are Falstaff and Rusalka, while two very different operas will close the summer—Donizetti's comedy, L'elisir d'amore, and Wagner's Tristan und isolde, in a classic production by Nikolaus Lehnhoff.
