Café Gandolfi, Glasgow

Seumus MacInnes has been packing them into Glasgow’s Café Gandolfi since the 1970s. This all-day café first opened in the heart of the old cheese market district, but now it finds itself in the Merchant City area, with glam neighbours such as Armani and Versace. But the food has the same focus on Scottish fare with a Mediterranean twist. For breakfast go for Stornoway black pudding with mushroom pancakes, or tortilla.
