When worlds collide

Ask a serious audiophile about the iPod and they'll wheeze on about the poor quality of digital music. But things are changing. First, companies such as Denon and Arcam started producing high-end docking stations for the iPod. The latest £130 offering from Arcam (pictured) is a cracker. That's just the start. Fatman's iTube Valve Amp and Dock and Sonic Gear's hefty i-Steroid both employ valve technology, the hi-fi purists' last haven. Is nothing sacred?
