When it was first launched, the Bose SoundDock had almost as much impact as the iPod for which it was made. It opened up the market for iPod-centric systems, changed the way we listened to our iPods and spawned a host of imitators.
Now Bose has unveiled a revamped version that allows you to take it with you. The rather literally named SoundDock Portable Digital Music System for iPod uses the clever technology that allows Bose to give smaller speakers a bigger sound. This means there's no compromising on the listening experience, but you can carry it around.
At £279, plus an extra £39 for a carrying case, it carries the usual Bose premium. But with a high-gloss finish in white or black and measuring just 31cm by 18cm, it will be a hit.
