Belgium. Is there a country in the world about which so many people have so many preconceptions? Boring, industrial, a country stuffed full of "Eurocrats" and cartoon characters. And yet there is so much more to the country. Brussels itself, far from being full of Eurocrats is more accurately described as the "capital of Europeans", choc full of fashion, fine food and culture.
In this supplement, we've uncovered a wealth of interesting stuff to do and see in southern Belgium, from playing a round on the world-class golf courses of Wallonia (possibly my favourite real place name of all time), to some serious retail therapy on Avenue Louise, the fashion hub of Brussels. There are also thrills and spills at the revamped Spa-Francorchamps grand prix circuit which, this year, welcomes back the F1 circus for the Belgian Grand Prix. Click here for details of how to win a luxury, all-inclusive break to this year's event, including a chance to be part of the action in the pit lane.
Whatever you're looking for in a holiday destination—from the bustle and glamour of a big city, to a rural food retreat or a golf and spa break—southern Belgium has something for everyone. Check it out and change those preconceptions.
